Why we exist
When access to school disappears, the desire to learn does not.
Our mission is to create pathways to education, mentorship, and hope for Afghan girls whose opportunities have been limited by circumstances beyond their control. We believe every girl deserves the chance to learn, be heard, and build a future shaped by her own dreams.
Dreams Without Borders also works to break the silence and stigma surrounding mental health and autism. Through compassionate conversations, awareness, and an inclusive community, we want girls and families to know that asking for support is a sign of strength and that every mind deserves understanding, dignity, and acceptance.
We are building a safe, culturally respectful community where education and emotional well-being belong together—and where no girl feels that she must face her challenges alone.

Meet the founder
Shayesta Baqaakhail
A passionate Afghan-American advocate committed to helping girls feel seen, supported, and hopeful about their futures.
Shayesta founded Dreams Without Borders from a deeply personal belief that every girl deserves an education, encouragement, and someone who believes in her potential. She carries a strong love for Afghanistan and a heartfelt commitment to standing beside girls whose dreams have been interrupted or placed out of reach.
Her hope is to help as many girls as possible—one student, one opportunity, and one dream at a time. She looks forward to growing a community where girls can continue learning, speak openly about their well-being, and feel accepted for exactly who they are. For Shayesta, this work is not simply a project; it is a promise to keep creating hope wherever it is needed.
